THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada strongly petitions and urges Health Canada to launch a public education and awareness program about the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus; FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges the federal government, where appropriate, to require the alcohol industry throughout Canada to label all bottles of alcohol with information on the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus. FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges its provincial organizations and member clubs to lobby their respective provincial governments to implement a public education and awareness program about the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus, with such programs to include user friendly, easily accessible and widely distributed information.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges its provincial organizations and member clubs to lobby their respective provincial governments to enact legislation to require the alcohol industry throughout Canada to label all bottles of alcohol with information on the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus. FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges its provincial organizations and member clubs to lobby their respective provincial governments to enact legislation similar to �Sandy�s Law� in Ontario, which requires restaurants, bars and retail outlets to post signage warning the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada submits a resolution to BPWI urging affiliates and associates to lobby their respective governments to launch a public education and awareness program about the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus. FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada submits a resolution to BPWI urging affiliates and associates to lobby their respective governments to adopt FASD as a concern of international priority to set the stage for universal adoption of labeling on bottles of alcohol in countries globally, indicating the impacts of alcohol on an unborn fetus.
