THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Federal Government to ensure that immigrant women who are abused not be subjected to deportation or other penalties for reporting the abuse.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the refugee determination process not penalize women who have claimed refugee status based on domestic violence which has occurred in their country of origin which refuses to protect them.
