THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Federal Government in general and Health & Welfare Canada specifically to:l. Recognize Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) as an illness that is happening in the Canadian population.2. Develop a working case definition which would then be available to the medical profession.3. Conduct proper studies to determine how extensive the illness is in Canada and develop recommendations for appropriate standards of care.4. Establish national policies to control and contain the incidence of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Fibromyalgia, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities in Canada, and to ensure care, treatment, comfort and dignity for persons afflicted with these illnesses.
