THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada, and especially the minister responsible for the Status of Women, to make the Federal Personal Harassment Policy a law with personal harassment being defined as any behaviour that undermines the performance of that job, or threatens the economic livelihood of the employee; including offensive sexual comments, gestures, or physical contact that is considered objectionable or offensive, behaviour that is deliberatee-sides, and of which both males and females can be victims; FURTHER BE IT RESOLVES THAT disciplinary measures should not exclude the following: that the person who has been harassed (the victim) retain an honourable reputation with respect to employment history and that this incident not influence the employment record; and in the event of wrongful dismissal, that the victim be reinstated, if possible, or that fair financial restitution be offered.
