THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to immediately establish an independent National Reproductive Technologies Commission with the primary responsibilities of:a. ensuring the new reproductive technologies are only provided in a safe, ethical and accountable way within the boundaries of acceptable practice and research, andb. establishing and administrating the resource allocation, access, and practice in the areas of reproductive technologiesas recommended in Proceed with Care: The Final Report of the Royal Commission on New Reproductive Technologies”.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the National Reproductive Technologies Commission be composed of knowledgeable persons representing the law, medical and ethnical concerns as well as the general public and be composed of at least 50% women.”
