Resolution Number:

700.10.29

Club:

Province:

Year:

1944

Status:

Resolved

Background:

Comments:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT a letter be sent from this Convention to the Canadian Government asking if it would be possible, at the cessation of hostilities, to review the whole question of Nationality” in Canada, in order that it would no longer be necessary for Canadians to name their country of origin, but that “Canadian” now be regarded as a nationality. It is felt that doing away with hyphenated Canadians, such as French and English, would tend towards uniting the peoples of this country.”
