Recommendations of Report on Royal Commission – 1972

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to implement immediately Recommendation No. 165 (page 418) of the Report of the Royal Commission on the Status of Women in Canada; andFURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT failing the implementation of this section by the Government of Canada (the Commissioner to have the same authority as the Commissioner of the Official Languages Act) BPW Canada endeavours to establish its own Human Rights Commissioner to be a continuing source of advice and assistance to women and other groups who have suffered and continue to suffer from discrimination throughout Canadian society.
