THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Minister of National Health and Welfare to amend the C.P.P. so that Survivor Pensions be divided on a pro-rata basis which reflects the length of time the deceased has spent with ex-spouses, common-law or otherwise; i.e. Where there was 30 years of living with a first spouse and only one year with a second, the first spouse would get approximately 96% of the pension.
