THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges its Provincial Organizations, through their member clubs to study laws pertaining to matrimony in their respective provinces, with a view to re-writing such legislation in order to recognize the concept of equal partnership in marriage; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon the dissolution of marriage, each party will have a right to an equal share in the assets accumulated during such marriage, otherwise that by gift or inheritance received by either spouse from outside sources.
