General Efforts Against Violence – 1994

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to provide resources to assist parents in the constructive and educational use of television with respect to their children.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to promote educational programming that meets children’s needs for information, entertainment, positive role models and knowledge about the world.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Canadian Radio, Television and Telecommunications Commission to take immediate action to reduce the level of violence contained in programming specifically directed to children and to programming in general.
