Background:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT as members of the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs we will:1. Petition our Board of Education to institute an earnest program of Scientific Education in the Normal Schools of our Provinces, as the quickest means of getting the truth regarding this dangerous custom to our growing boys and girls.2. Petition our Board of Education to appoint a field worker to visit all schools in each Province and give up-to-date scientific information on the effects of alcohol, similar to the plan now in force in Saskatchewan. Such workers would receive special training for this work at American institutions, via Yale University, Evanston, Illinois, or Chatauqua, New York, until such time as Canada can provide training schools of her own.
