Changing the Indian Act – 1982

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada requests the Government of Canada to change the Indian Act to conform to the Charter of Rights entrenched in the Canadian Constitution as soon as possible and not wait the three years legally allowed;AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Indian Status be reinstated to women and their children who have previously been denied their Indian Status.
