THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada strongly urges the Government of Canada to pursue expeditiously as possible the purpose of Bill C-72 through Parliament to final conclusion and enactment.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada recommends that a Federal Human Rights Commission be set up that would:1. be directly responsible to Parliament2. have power to investigate the administration of human rights legislation as well as the power to enforce the law by laying charges and prosecuting offenders;3. deal specifically with the protection of women’s rights;4. suggest changes in Human Rights legislation and promote wide spread respect for human rights.
