Code of Conduct

2026 Conference

The Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs (BPW Canada) welcomes all members and participants in a spirit of respect, inclusion, and collaboration. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and enriching experience for all attendees, both in person and online.

This Code of Conduct outlines our shared expectations and responsibilities. By attending, participating in, or contributing to this conference, you agree to uphold the following principles:

Respect and Inclusion

  • Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of gender, race, age, nationality, language, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or political affiliation.
  • Foster a culture of belonging by being mindful of different perspectives, experiences, and ways of communicating.
  • Be courteous in all interactions — verbal, non-verbal, and written — and allow others space to contribute.

Zero Tolerance for Harassment

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, including:

  • Verbal, visual, or physical harassment
  • Unwelcome attention or advances
  • Disrespectful or discriminatory jokes, gestures, or materials
  • Disruption of sessions, social activities, or online forums

If you feel uncomfortable or witness harassment, please report it to a conference organizer or designated support person immediately. All reports will be handled as soon as possible.

Professionalism and Integrity

  • Contribute constructively to workshops, panels, and networking events.
  • Respect confidentiality requests made by speakers or attendees.
  • Refrain from recording or distributing content without consent.
  • Give proper credit to speakers, presenters, and content creators.

Accessibility and Support

  • Be mindful of accessibility needs. Ensure your presentations, materials, and conversations are as inclusive as possible.
  • If you require support (e.g., accessibility accommodations, translation assistance, quiet spaces), our team is here to help.

Environmental and Cultural Respect

  • Be respectful of the host city, Indigenous territories, and cultural traditions of others.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly, reduce single-use plastics, and consider environmentally friendly practices during your stay.

Consequences for Misconduct

Conference organizers reserve the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this Code of Conduct, including:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Removal from the conference without refund
  • Reporting to relevant authorities, if necessary
