Up for Debate

As Canadians head to the polls, we deserve to hear how party leaders plan to build a more equal Canada—one that improves the lives of women, in all their diversity, both here and around the world.

That conversation must begin with a broadcast leaders’ debate focused on the issues that matter to women and gender-diverse people.

Nearly 35 years ago, during the 1984 federal election, party leaders John Turner, Brian Mulroney, and Ed Broadbent participated in just such a debate.

Has the fight for gender equality been won since then?

We believe that question is still Up for Debate.
