THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada commends the Parliamentary Task Force Reform and the Government of Canada for undertaking this study; andFURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to press on with amendments to the Canada Pension Plan to implement:1.The establishment of a homemaker pension for a person working only or mainly in the home to care for a spouse, a child under 18, or a dependent and infirm adult relative living in the home (Recommendations 3.7, 3.8, 3.9).2.The automatic splitting of pension credits when the younger spouse reaches 65 years, on marriage breakdown, or when one of the spouses dies (Recommendation 3.5).3.The general drop-out provision be increased from 15% to 25% of lowest earning years and the child care drop-out provisions be altered so that it may be used by either parent (Recommendation 3,15 and 3.16).4.The orphan pension under the Canada Pension Plan be indexed.
