THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada: 1. To develop a democratic amending process for Constitutional Reform with full prior public debate of all issues under consideration and full participation of all those involved; and2. To ensure that any changes to the Canadian Constitution Act:(a) affirm the rights and freedoms of women, visible minoritiesoriginal peoplesrsons with disabilities, and francophone minorities outside Quebec, and (b) be consistent with the preservation and enhancement of the multicultural heritage of Canada.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada embarks on a follow-up educational program on the process of constitutional reform.
