THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to amend the Constitution Act of Canada in view of the Meech Lake Accord:a) To protect the equality rights of women and minorities in Canada;b) To state the non equivocal precedence of the quality sections of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms; andc) To permit the Government of Canada to set standards for shared-cost programs to enable women’s specific needs to be met in the provinces.
