THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada encourages the Provincial Organizations of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs to urges their respective Provincial Governments to fulfill these obligations by accelerating programs to improve housing and sanitation, to clean up rivers and lakes and to insist that cities and municipalities, and industries provide safe ways of treating effluent, and to urges the Government of Canada to fulfill these obligations wherever applicable.AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Government of Canada be requestsed to make and enforce fully adequate standards for tankers traveling through and in Canadian waters and adequate pilotage near Canadian shores, to prevent any possibility of massive oil contamination of sea life and shore lines.
