THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges the Government of Canada to further address the issue of human trafficking by:(a) Increasing the resources to strengthen the system with more immigration and customs agents enabling them to process and charge the offenders quickly and without delay.(b) By curbing the market for the victims of trafficking, providing tough penalties for the users of sex trade and forced labour through further amendments to the Criminal Code making it illegal to have sex with someone forced into the sex trade and illegal to employ victims of forced labour of any kind; and(c) By working with the United Nations to convict Canadians participating in the forced sex trade in other countries (i.e. tourist sex).
