THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada:1. Strongly urges the Government of Canada to enforce the provisions of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms regarding sexual harassment with specific respect to the language and behaviour of the MPs and Senators particularly in the House of Commons and the Senate.2. Urges the Government of Canada as an employer to institute program of education aimed at eliminating sexual harassment and sexist practices particularly on the floor of the House and Commons and the Senate and in the offices of MPs and Senators; and3. On passage of this resolution, a letter of support be sent to the committee of female MPs (spearheaded by the Honourable Mary Collins, Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues) that has been organized to combat such sexual harassment and discrimination in Parliament with copies to all other MPs.
