THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs urges the Government of Canada to:a. Ensure through a legislated stoppage, moratorium, delay or any other mechanism that Bovine Growth Hormone (BST) is not approved until a fair and thorough examination of all unresolved issues have been carried out under the direct scrutiny of Parliament. b. Review the Canadian Environment Protection Act including all regulations thereunder that deal with genetically engineered food, drugs and general non-therapeutic drugs and enact stringent legislation providing a meaningful regulatory framework for implementing recommendation and setting standards regarding genetically engineered hormones and biotechnical products.
