Equal Remuneration for Men and Women Workers – 1954

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada makes representations to the Prime Minister of Canada urging that legislation be enacted to provide equal remuneration for men and women workers for work of equal value.NOTE: The 1954 Convention, in addition to Resolutions 1954-8 and 1954-21, also adopted the following recommendation from the Employment Conditions Report: That our campaign for Equal Pay Legislation in the Provinces of Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, be continued with the maximum effort possible”.”
