THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada petition the Federal Government to undertake an evaluation of the wife assault policy of the various Provinces to pinpoint the effectiveness of the policy, together with the effectiveness of its implementation.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges the Provincial Organizations to petition their respective Provincial Governments to develop a fully coordinated system such as that used in Duluth, Minnesota, where policies and social services work as a team offering immediate and ongoing support and resource information to victims (including children) and abusers.FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Canada urges the Provincial Organizations to petition their respective Provincial Government to provide funding for long-term support services including counseling, housing and retraining for victims of violence and their children.
