THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT BPW Canada again urges the Government of Canada to appeal S.12(1b) of the Indian Act: andFURTHER URGES the Government of Canada to amend the Divorce Act so as to provide that the Indian woman who has lost her Indian Status by reason of her marriage outside the Band to which she formerly belonged, shall have her Indian status reestablished on dissolution of her marriage by divorce.
