Comments:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Victoria Business and Professional Women’s Club in meeting assembled strongly protests against the recent revision of the Election Act requiring a married woman to register under her husband’s name and as a housewife, regardless of the fact that she may be engaged in a business or professional career outside the home. This Club considers such a procedure robs a married woman of her individuality as a responsible citizen, and requests that such a retrograde step be rectified at the earliest possible moment.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT copies of this resolution be forwarded to BPW Canada for its endorsement and presentation to the proper authorities; and also to the Local Council of Women of Victoria for its consideration.
