BPW Canada Conference Code of Conduct
A respectful, inclusive and welcoming experience for everyone
The Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs
(BPW Canada) welcomes all members, guests, speakers, volunteers
and participants in a spirit of respect, inclusion and collaboration.
We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and enriching experience for
everyone participating in BPW Canada events, whether in person or online.
By attending or participating in the conference, you agree to uphold this
Code of Conduct.
🤝 Respect & Inclusion

Treat everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of gender, race, age,
nationality, language, sexual orientation, disability, religion, political
affiliation or other differences.

Be mindful of different perspectives, experiences and ways of communicating.

Be courteous in verbal, non-verbal and written interactions.

Allow others the opportunity and space to participate.
🛡️ Harassment-Free Environment
BPW Canada has zero tolerance for harassment or discriminatory behaviour.
This includes:
- Verbal, visual or physical harassment
- Unwelcome attention or advances
- Discriminatory or disrespectful jokes, gestures or materials
- Deliberate disruption of sessions, activities or online forums
If you experience or witness inappropriate behaviour, please report it to a
member of the Convention Committee or a designated support person.
💼 Professionalism & Integrity
Participants are expected to:

Contribute constructively to workshops, panels and networking activities.

Respect confidentiality requests from speakers and participants.

Obtain permission before recording or distributing conference content.

Give appropriate credit to speakers, presenters and content creators.
♿ Accessibility & Support
We want everyone to be able to participate fully.

Please be mindful of accessibility needs when presenting, communicating
and sharing materials.

Participants requiring accessibility accommodations, translation assistance
or other support are encouraged to speak with the Convention Committee.
🌎 Environmental & Cultural Respect
Participants are encouraged to:

Respect the host community, Indigenous territories and the cultural
traditions of others.
- Dispose of waste responsibly.
- Reduce the use of single-use plastics where possible.

Consider environmentally responsible choices during the conference.
⚖️ Responding to Misconduct
BPW Canada reserves the right to take appropriate action when this
Code of Conduct is violated.
Depending on the circumstances, action may include:
- A verbal or written warning
- Removal from the conference without refund
- Referral to appropriate authorities when necessary

If you experience or witness behaviour that may violate this Code of Conduct,
please contact a member of the Convention Committee.
You may also visit the Information Desk at the hotel for assistance.
All concerns will be taken seriously and addressed promptly, with
discretion, confidentiality and care.
