Resolutions passed at a Provincial Conference/AGM or National AGM/Convention often contain directives to urge the provincial or federal governments and/or specific ministries to take action. These directives, outlined in the approved Therefore Be It Resolved statements, are consolidated into a written brief for submission to government ministries and leaders of opposition parties. A copy of the brief is circulated to Club Presidents for use at the local or provincial level, e.g., issuing press releases or arranging meetings with community-based MPPs or MPs.
Opportunities to meet with ministries affected by the resolutions in the brief are requested or granted. These meetings strengthen relationships with decision-makers and reinforce why our resolutions should be implemented. Reports of these meetings and correspondence are shared with members via email, routine mailings, annual reports, and the website.
