PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Chair - Joan Macklin

The role of the Public Affairs Committee is to keep members informed of national conditions concerning the employment of women, of changes in existing and proposed legislation, and of any new federal task forces announced by the Government of Canada that are of particular interest to women. To accomplish this, as Chair of the Public Affairs Committee, I would like to encourage all members to contact me, via e-mail, whenever they become aware of pertinent information, including press releases and articles in newspapers. Once received, it will be posted on the website so that all clubs across Canada have access to it.

We encourage our members to use this information to compile resolutions concerning women's issues (and in particular, working women's issues) to be addressed to the Government of Canada. We also ask clubs to let us know whenever they are working on a particular issue so that other clubs are aware of it, and hopefully clubs interested in the same issue can work together to prepare a more effective resolution.
