CONVENTION 2008 - WINNIPEG MANITOBA

July 24-27, 2008

"Women of the World, Making Democracy Work"

Aboriginal Leadership Day has been moved to Thursday, July 24. It is not part of the Convention agenda, but members are welcome to attend. The intention is to encourage aboriginal women in Manitoba (and elsewhere) to consider starting a BPW club. (Dove workshop and lunch has been cancelled.)

The pre-Convention meeting of the Board of Directors,  including the session open to all members, will be held in the afternoon of Thursday, July 24. The post-Convention meeting of the Board of Directors will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 27. All incoming Provincial Presidents and those running for election should plan to attend.

Convention Opening Ceremonies will include entertainment and refreshments for a "Taste of Manitoba". BPW International President Chonchanok Viravan ("Nok") and Vice President Liz Benham will be in attendance. In addition to luncheon speakers and the breakfast panel on Sunday, the business meeting agenda will include a workshop and several presentations of interest to all members.

Congrès national du 24 au 27 juillet

La journée des femmes autochtones auru lieu le jeudi, 24 juillet. Les membres de BPW seront les bienvenues. Les activités se deroulerant en anglais seulement. (L'atelier "Dove" est annulé.)

La réunion pre-congrès du c-a national, y compris la session ouverte à toutes les membres, aura lieu le jeudi après-midi, 24 juillet. La réunion post-congrès aura lieu le dimanche apres-midi, 27 juillet. Les nouvelles présidentes provinciales, ainsi que les autres qui se présentent aux élections nationales doivent prévoir d'y assister.

La cérémonie d'ouverture comprendra des spectacles et un goûter "à la mode du Manitoba". La présidente de la fédération internationale Chonchanok Viravan ("Nok") ainsi que la vice-présidente Liz Benham seront présentes au congrès. En plus des conférences du vendredi et samedi midi et la table ronde du dimanche matin, il y aura un atelier et des présentations à l'ordre du jour des sessions d'affaires.
